If you live in an older house, chances are that you have stamped concrete patio steps somewhere, probably in the garden or perhaps in the basement. There are many different ways to fix foundations damage, all depend on what type of damage it is, the location of the damage, and the strength of the surrounding soil around your home is. As a trained contractor you will need to take all of these factors and formulate a solution to the problem.

The fifth step is to sweep the excess sand from the area and soak with a water hose. This is commonly seen when the finished surface of the concrete slab starts to flake off of the driveway or sidewalk. Concrete floors can be sealed, repaired and painted to give either a smooth or rough style finish depending on it's main purpose.

9. Completely fill the crack with the concrete mixture and tamp it. Use a metal trowel to make the surface of the crack smooth. The final step is to fill the small holes with a concrete mixture, restoring the integrity to the sidewalk, driveway, or slab concrete that is being raised.

If you decide to replace a concrete driveway make sure the contractor uses a four thousand psi mix of concrete poured at a minimum of four inches; furthermore, steel reinforcement should be added for increased tensile strength to compliment the already high compressive strength of concrete.

A foundation repair contractor who has experience with older houses should be able to handle this type of repair. You see with a concrete block or other stacked masonry unit wall, the wall derives its strength from the EVENLY DISTRIBUTED weight of the house applying pressure and pushing directly down on the top of the walls.
